How is interracial love today? Is it pointless to stand/fight for it with somebody you love?

Let’s say you knew this girl who likes this guy (who secretly likes her too but won’t admit it) that was out of her race. So one day the girl decides to tell the guy how she feels, but the guy (having already face enough crap from ignorant people) tells her that she would be more happier if she dated within her own race. In truth, he feels: he’ll face a mob of ignorant people, the girl won’t be able to handle the cruelty & leave him, and that the whole thing is pointless.

What should the girl do? Is interracial love pointless?

It is not pointless. It can be hard and there can be a lot of people who treat you like s*** because of it. But if you guys really like eachother and if it is meant to be then you WILL make it. The last thing that you want to do is end up thinking "What if we would have tried it?"… I think you should give it a shot. Good luck :D

    P.S.
My opinion may be slightly biased because I grow up in an area where there are lots of different types of people…even though a lot of people here do not like interracial relationships..there are a lot of people who don’t care :D

Absolutely not. He’d probably catch some flack from his friends just joking around, but it’s the 21st century. We [hopefully] are going to have our first black president elected. Just because it’s the norm to date inside your race [or at least skin color] that doesn’t mean it’s abnormal or unacceptable to be in an interracial relationship.

the girl should try it out with him because if she really does like this kid then the insults or pressure wont be worthless if she does like the kid.

Not pointless. If interracial is that much of a problem then i think the 2 should move somewhere safer. Love knows no bounds, therefore i think the 2 should do what they think is right. Who cares what other people think. We all strive for individuality but if we just listen to what others say then we are just another part of the herd.

If she is sure that he feels the same way about her, then she should try to convince him to give it a try. Does she really want to be 85 years old some day and wondering "I wonder what would have happened with so-and-so if I had tried harder?"

Inter-racial relationships aren’t pointless. I am in one right now, and couldn’t be happier!

Not at all. Love is wonderful no matter what color. My daughter is white and married to a Latino, my other child has a Mulatto child with a black guy. I love them all. My son in law is a great guy, employed, fantastic work ethic, has a heart of gold. My grandson is the most perfect baby ever born. He is the light of my life and I wouldn’t change anything about him. His parents are no longer together but they both love him and that’s what matters. God is love and God is color blind. It’s worth it. Don’t let small minded idiots tell you how to live your life.
