My friend recently divorced with children that live with her. She’s in her mid forties and feels that she should remain single because of her children. She does not want them hurt anymore and feels it morally wrong to subject them to another man (who may or may not be compatible with her). She told me that she’s past her prime and besides no one will want an old lady. I’m her age and we’ve similar situations but I’m dating. I think that she should get out and find someone.

Her previous relationship was dull and void. Growing up she was always the vivacious outgoing just great gal. Incidently her ex husband cheated on her and I fell that she’s somehow lost any confidence in herself. I just wanted her to get out to prove to herself that she’s still a woman that’s desirable. She’ll always be beautiful but after her divorce she’s really let go of herself. I mean she’s not fat but she just doesn’t make the effort to look halfway decent. I mean she wore pajamas when we went out for breakfast and it was ten o’clock in the morning…and we’ve known each other most of our lives and I went through the same thing so I just wanted to save her some time from having to go through the pain of emptiness and feeling unwanted.
